Rainbow Snippets April 1-2

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQIA authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).

In this group, you’ll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every story’s main character identifies as LGBTQIA. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes; anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be six sentences long–one for each color in the Pride flag.”

Welcome to another Saturday filled with Rainbow Snippets!

The link below will take you to the public Facebook group where you find both new and established authors posting bits from their WIPs and new releases:

I’m on the final chapter of The Doctor and The Mechanic. It’s the first in a series, where the couples all meet At The Brass Lamp, a little coffee/wine bar in Long Beach. The first couple is Curtis & Lawrence. I’ve got ideas for The Architect & The Cop, The Attorney & The Barista… The sky is the limit.

It’s been a while since I posted a snippet, but I present you with the end of what began the week of 12/10-11 if you’d like to start at the beginning. I’ve also finalized the cover. This will be the free book I’ll offer when we do the big gay book giveaway later this year. And, I hope to have copies to hand out at GRL 2017 in Denver.

“Excuse me. Doctor? You’re too young.”

Curtis pulled a red cup from the cupboard and set up the Keurig again. Pouring some milk into the dry cup and starting the machine. “I’m actually thirty-four, I’ll be thirty-five on the twelfth.”

  1. “Young” is a relative term.

  2. Ha! That’s still pretty young from my perspective. 🙂

  3. I know that pain (from actual patients who wouldn’t let me treat them because they thought I couldn’t possibly be their doctor).

  4. Hey, that’s still young. I am only 2 years older than he! 😛

  5. Yep, 35 is definitely young. My daughter is 30 and she’s still a baby 😀 Lovely snippet though. I feel his pain 😀
