Rainbow Snippets April 30-May 1

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQIA authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).

In this group you’ll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every story’s main character identifies as LGBTQIA. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes, anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be 6 sentences long–one for each color in the Pride flag.”

Welcome to another Saturday filled with Rainbow Snippets!

The link below will take you to the public Facebook group where you find both new and established authors posting bits from their WIPs and new releases:

Today, I continue a little further on in my Current #WIP, PS.

I just remember her words, ‘I never thought anyone would ever be lonely enough to sell everything they owned.’ I was lonely enough; this was the first time anyone had ever looked at me differently. Growing up, I’d always dreamed of having a big burly man sweep me off my feet. I wanted Paul Bunyan, I wanted the unattainable. I mean honestly, I’m not god’s gift to anyone. I’m a fat guy, the only thing going for me is my full brown beard and my wavy silly brown hair.

  1. aww, I know what it’s like to have some dents to your self esteem. Hope he finds his Paul Bunyan.

  2. Aww. I hope he finds someone or discovers enough confidence to go out and get what he dreams of.

  3. I love this whole snippet. From “‘I never thought anyone would ever be lonely enough to sell everything they owned.’” to the character’s self description and… well, everything!
