Rainbow Snippets December 10-11

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQIA authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).

In this group you’ll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every story’s main character identifies as LGBTQIA. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes, anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be 6 sentences long–one for each color in the Pride flag.”

Welcome to another Saturday filled with Rainbow Snippets!

The link below will take you to the public Facebook group where you find both new and established authors posting bits from their WIPs and new releases:

This began as an idea to get a short story ready for submission on 1/1/17. A short that needed to be 18k max. I’m at 4.5k and I’m not even finished with the third chapter. I see this going longer and will probably just submit as a novella or novel to the publisher when I’m finished. Until then, I give you The Doctor & The Mechanic.

The idea came to me when I was watching Roseanne. One character says, have you ever heard of a doctor marrying a mechanic? And I thought, why not? I did a little twist, I hope you like it.

He lay on the bed, the alarm had just gone off, and Curtis watched as Lawrence shuffled around the room, looking for the clothes that had been tossed in abandon as they stumbled to the bed.

“You don’t have to rush out the door.”

“Don’t I?” Lawrence sat in the chair across from the bed. “Oh Lord, you are young.” He rubbed his eyes and sighed.
