Rainbow Snippets July 2-3

rainbow-snippets01
Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQIA authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).

In this group you’ll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every story’s main character identifies as LGBTQIA. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes, anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be 6 sentences long–one for each color in the Pride flag.”

Welcome to another Saturday filled with Rainbow Snippets!

The link below will take you to the public Facebook group where you find both new and established authors posting bits from their WIPs and new releases:

PS has been submitted to the publishers, keep your fingers crossed. This week, I’m starting to post snippets from a piece that I am re-working, that I am hoping should be published sometime later this year. It is a huge departure for me – it is a BDSM story. It’s based on the fable, The Brave Little Tailor. My book is called Seven with One Blow. #7W1B.

7 with 1 blow (1)Once upon a time…

A munch was in progress at the Hens and Heifers off Route 90 in the City. The gathering had been in full swing; nearly everyone who had RSVP’d arrived on time. Dominants sat with their submissives, single people sat around tables together, but there was a crackle of nervousness jumping from group to group as they talked, ordered beers, and nibbled on peanuts shelled to the concrete floor below them with not-quite-steady hands. All of them were regulars; there were no newcomers to run off and tell tales once the deed was done. Not that many would know it was a deed being done, anyway, but it was always good to be sure.

It’s not your typical BDSM story. A beta reader said of the story: And, it made me long for more stories like that: BDSM that is accurately described and isn’t wrapped up in all the false ritual.

Intriguing start — makes me want to know what’s going to happen/what’s making them nervous.

The name of the club suggests it’s a club for women only?

Nope, it’s not a club, it’s a restaurant. Munches typically take place at restaurants out in the open. Hens & Heifers is a chicken and steak place.

Oooo. Bdsm. Love it! You said above it’s a restaurant not a club. Interesting.

This sounds very good. I like the atmosphere. I love power exchange stories, especially ones that are more about the psychology of it than just kinky sex.

I hope you’ll like the eventual story, it’s finished. I’m just in the process of tweaking it and removing a dwarf. lol

Ooh now this does sound interesting. I love BDSM but it does get a little tedious and forulaic

I typically avoid most BDSM for exactly the reasons others have stated. They’re often seem to just recycle the same tropes. This one already looks different, and I love the name of the restaurant.

Still chuckling over ‘let me just move this dwarf for you’. 😉
