Rainbow Snippets October 29-30

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQIA authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).

In this group you’ll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every story’s main character identifies as LGBTQIA. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes, anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be 6 sentences long–one for each color in the Pride flag.”

Welcome to another Saturday filled with Rainbow Snippets!

The link below will take you to the public Facebook group where you find both new and established authors posting bits from their WIPs and new releases:

This is the story I am working on for NANAWRIMO this year, it’s got a due date of 1/7/17. A romance that takes place in Peru. The story is about David Pike, a stock broker about to turn fifty. The closest thing to a relationship he’s had has been with his payroll department. After being invited to a family reunion in Peru, he decides to quit his job and take up a second career as a chef, a job he’s always dreamed of.

I give you the very beginning of my current #WIP Beyond Pachamanca (David realized that panchamanca is a simmering heat deep within the earth, just like the love that grew between them.)

beyond-pachamancaDavid scoped out the hot man three people in front of him. His light brown hair was long and curly, like what you’d expect an angel to have. His eyes were a deep dark brown, almost black and his lips were thick and needed to be kissed. Unfortunately, David wasn’t close enough to check on the finer aspects of his body.

He was in the security line for his flight to Peru, the United Airlines site said to arrive three hours early, he hadn’t been on a flight anywhere, since before 9/11. But, this trip was more than just a vacation, this trip was the change his life needed.

  1. Love this line: “Unfortunately, David wasn’t close enough to check on the finer aspects of his body.” (It made me laugh and be glad I wasn’t drinking anything.)
